In mid-October Urania will screen contemporary Slovak films for three days. Through three feature films made in recent years and recognized with significant awards we can get a taste of our neighbor's European-standard cinema, highlighting its close connection with the film culture of Hungary and the surrounding countries. The program opens on October 12 with Martin Šulik’s film The Man with Rabbit-Ears, in which a writer finds himself in a mid-life-creativity-crisis; it is played by the fantastic Miroslav Krobot, on whose side we can see Alexandra Borbély. The tragicomedy is complemented by two dramas: The Servants, co-winner of Alexandre Trauner Art / Film Festival 2020 in Szolnok, directed by Ivan Ostrochovský, takes viewers back to the times of communism. The third film Be Light! tells the story of today’s radicalizing youth. It was also nominated for many award.
